
Pack 302 Camp-out Checklist
While Scouts generally know what they should bring on a camp-out, a checklist can be useful in minimizing things that get forgotten.
Camping Gear

Spare batteries
-
Small flashlight (no bigger than 2 D cells) or headlamp

Rain Gear (poncho at a minimum, rain jacket and pants recommended)

Boots are recommended for cold weather and hiking.

Sleeping Bag (packed in plastic bag preferably inside a stuff sack)

Sleeping pad

Pillow
-
Water Bottle (full)

Tent
-
Cub Scout Handbook (in plastic bag) plus a pen

Pocket Knife (after earning Wittlin' Chip)

Camping or regular towel

Bandana

Watch

Whistle

Field uniform (Class "A") for ceremonies and religious services

Activity uniform (Class "B") (troop/pack shirts or any scout shirts) for other activities

Mess kit (or plate and cup) and utensils

Toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and hand towel

Bible, prayer book, etc.
Clothing

Underwear, one per day, plus one extra

Socks, one pair per day, plus one extra. For cold weather bring warm socks (preferably wool or polyester, not cotton). For hiking liner socks are great.

T-shirts, one per day, plus one extra

One pair of shorts (except in very cold weather)

One pair of long pants

Hat – baseball or brim style

Extra pair of shoes, tennis shoes are ok

Other rules to keep in mind for youth and adults attending the campout:
NO alcoholic beverages!
NO fireworks, firearms, archery equipment, etc.!
NO pets!
NO pressurized fuel equipment unless you have BSA Pressurized Fuel Training!
